Yes, but these people are doing this in the Trade Channel. Which is bizarre. Seriously.

Curse_You is quite correct about how the games are run.
Anyway, I agree with Zinger. Probablly some stealth GW:EN preview event stuff installing.

Well then you're stuck between a rock and a hard place, because if you don't -image it will be unplayable. It's great once it's fully downloaded.

Seriously, I have never used my Factions or Nightfall CD, but I play all three Campaigns. Besides, most relevant game data is downloaded weeks in advance (like today's update), so there's no point in using the CD if you already play Guild Wars.
|
Isn't that the point then? That the CD/DVD has the raw base data to run the campaign, and then you only need to download the latest patch or build. Wouldn't it be more efficient to not bother streaming too much data when you could just shove it on the disk. Though this would of course have problems for those who don't buy the disks but from the online store and such. Still, they have to download it anyway, so why not leave it closer to GWEN's actual release before streaming down 1 gig of stuff for the rest of us who could be actually playing now? Or when we get home anyway?

Exactly! But if you want to be stupid and W T S in local, then you will get banned...my reply was meant for the trade channel to fully list the item you want to sell w/o having it chopped in half via the party box...

I must be where everyone else isn't, I got DL speeds of +250kb/s. 570MB total in this monster, 24k files. I'm not having any major lag issues, either.

They've always done it like this. I think they just got excited and tried putting out too much of the data for EotN.

Because you are wrong maybe? The cd's contain the full game (before all the updates), meaning if you install off the cd, you do not have to download the game through the client, only updates.

This is bloody ridiculous! I'm sitting here on a damn fast unshaped 8Mb MaxDSL connection and this update is coming down at 40KB/s! It's taken 10 mins just to get to 7% and I still have over 19,000 files remaining.
If they're going to put out a big update, then at least I'd expect them to allow us with quick connections to download quicker than this! It's pathetic!

Sorry for the huge download. I'm not quite sure why it was so large, but I figure maybe we're rollling out super-secret content for next Wintersday or something. (No, I'm only kidding! )
Anyway, there are some issues I need to share with you, for instance, graphical bugs like:- Character errors (Some of them are sorta funny looking)
- Changes to the position of the interface elements
- Strange text in the territory drop-down menu
We're working to fix those things. The territory switching drop-down will give you an Err 007 if you try to move from NA to EU districts or vice-versa. It's not intended to work, it was just part of something we were fiddling with on the Development Server and somehow it all got mixed up into the Live Server. These are all no harm, no foul, non-long-lasting issues, but we'll tidy them up in a new build out today/tonight.
In fact, I understand the Live Build is in the oven right now.

I have to fully agree. It's annopying that we can no longer make the party bar the size we want as it would have been nice to still be able to resize it the way we prefer it rather than having it tell us how we should prefer it.... oy.

Me and you BOTH, I also have a special setup for monking and it's totally ruined now that I can't adjust my party bar. I mean, honestly it is part of the Interface is it not? Shouldn't it be under the interface tab so that if you WANT you CAN adjust it to how you want it? I have my skill bar up and down, and before the update I'd have my party bar up and down right next to it...now it's all...small, and confusing as crap. I can't drag it down and it's super annoying. For the love of god, change it back or at least put it under interface options to be able to adjust the darn thing! PLEEEEEASE
